OVERALL REQUIREMENT  

  • Appropriate mastery of the CIPS Body of Knowledge (CBOK); CBOK is a common core of knowledge areas that can be defined for the IT profession as a whole, despite the large number of roles that an IT professional could fill.
  • Adherence to the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Code of Ethics
  • Detailed and descriptive employer or client references
  • A minimum of 1000 hours of professional work experience

ACADEMIC ACCREDITATION

CIPS National has many responsibilities under its mandate. One is to develop and maintain standards in educational qualifications that provide an appropriate foundation for those who wish to follow a career in computing or information systems.  As part of this responsibility, CIPS National undertakes a program of visits to universities and college/technical institute to review computing, information technology and business technology management programs.
